The Tuff Jug Vent 2-Pack provides replacement poly vents for select Tuff Jug utility containers that use external venting. These closed-body poly vents are ready to install and require a simple drilling or puncturing step to activate airflow. Each pack includes two vents, giving you one for immediate installation and one as a spare. Available in Black and White to match your container color scheme.
What the Poly Vent Does
On Tuff Jug containers that use external venting, the poly vent is the component that allows air to enter the jug during dispensing, replacing the liquid volume being poured out and maintaining a smooth, consistent flow rate. Without a functional vent, a sealed jug creates a vacuum during pouring that interrupts flow and slows dispensing dramatically. The poly vent solves this by providing a controlled air entry point that equalizes internal pressure continuously as liquid exits the container.
Closed Vent – Activation Required
These vents arrive in a sealed, closed state. Before installation, the vent must be activated by drilling or puncturing the vent body to create the airflow passage. This manufacturing approach ensures the vents arrive in a clean, contamination-free state and gives the operator control over vent sizing. The activation step is quick and requires only a basic tool – a drill or a sharp punch is all that is needed.
When an External Vent Is Needed
External vents are recommended for Tuff Jug containers that are being used without an Auto Stop Spout or Ripper Cap, or when the Spout Adapter is in use and improved flow rate is desired. The Auto Stop Spout and Ripper Cap systems are internally vented and do not require – and in fact do not benefit from – an additional external vent. If you are using your container with a basic storage cap or another non-vented cap configuration, an external poly vent is the correct solution for maintaining proper airflow during dispensing.
